Retail giant, Aldi are set to create hundreds of new jobs as they open a brand new Distribution Centre in Cardiff. The development will be a huge boost to the South Wales economy when the centre opens its doors in 2017.
Baxter Personnel will be responsible for conducting the recruitment for the Distribution Centre; this is their second large-scale recruitment project with the retailer; as they have successfully hired staff at Aldi’s Regional Distribution Centre in Goldthorpe. The recruitment agency has also recently opened up a brand new branch in Cardiff Bay which has created several new roles within the company. Baxter Personnel will also roll out their business in Wales as a result of this project, creating further opportunities in the area.
Baxter Personnel have already begun the recruitment process with roles in theTrading Department becoming available. Recruitment for further commercial positions will also take place in the first half of 2016; this will allow Aldi 12 months to train staff before the centre officially opens next year.
As well as commercial staff, hundreds of warehouse and logistics jobs are set to be created at Aldi; the recruitment for these roles will start in the latter part of 2016. Senior positions will also be available at the Distribution Centre including Warehouse and Cleaning Section Leaders.
A high percentage of the positions available will be permanent, giving workers in South Wales the reassurance of job security. Alongside these stable positions, Aldi are able to offer their staff a great rate of pay plus an extensive training package.
Construction of the site has already begun; the Distribution Centre will be based at the Capital Business Park in Wentloog. You can keep up-to-date with the progress so far by liking the Aldi Cardiff Baxter Personnel Facebook page or by following Baxter Personnel on Twitter at @BaxterPersonnel.
In October 2015, Aldi further demonstrated their investment in Wales, as they chose to open their 600th UK store in Cardiff. It has recently been announced that Aldi will be introducing a new online delivery service for their customers; which further accentuates their growth as a retailer.
