Inspired work can’t take place in the midst of a mess, especially if you’re knee-deep in paperwork and unable to locate that important report. By cleaning and de-cluttering your workspace, it will help you to feel more organised in you job, after all a ‘tidy desk equals a tidy mind.’

Revisit Your Original Goals
If you’re struggling to positively connect with your job, take a moment to think why you first took the position. By taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture, it is likely that you will remember the primary reasons why you originally took up the post.

Ask For Feedback
One of the main reasons why employees may feel uninspired in the workplace is because they are struggling with their workload. If you’re feeling like this, it maybe time to connect with your manager to ask how you are currently performing. Listen and take on their advice on how you can manager your workload more effectively. After all, If you’re feeling less overwhelmed, it is likely that you will remain motivated at work.  

Embrace Learning Opportunities
Sometimes you can feel stuck in a rut because you are not being mentally motivated or challenged.  If this is the case, identify an area of your skillset which you would like to develop.  Take a look online to see if there are any courses available or simply attend an industry conference or offer to mentor a new  staff member as this is likely to get you enthusiastic juices flowing.

Connect With Someone Who Inspires You
Is there a colleague or someone outside work who inspires you? If so, take some time out to connect with them, their positive attitude is likely to remind you of why you chose your career path and they should be able to help you solve any workplace issues which might be hindering your motivation.   

Find Your Impact
Your dissatisfied at work could be down to you feeling like you don’t make a real impact at the company. No matter how big or small the task is, take a moment to think of how this will improve the business and how your contribution works towards the overall success of the company.

Take A Break
Sometimes, the work can become an overwhelming place, especially if you don’t take any time off.  By spending some time away from your desk, it is likely you will come back feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle any tasks which are presented to you.
